Dr. Nina Balmaceda, president of Peace & Hope International, was the featured speaker at the event titled “Faith-Rooted Human Rights in South America: A Conversation with Paz y Esperanza (Peace & Hope) on the Role of Faith Communities in Seeking Justice for Women, Children, and Indigenous Peoples on Nov. 13. The event was sponsored by Duke Divinity School Center for Reconciliation, the Graduate Program in Religion, the Center for Latin American & Caribbean Studies, and the Human Rights Center @ Franklin Humanities Institute.
