"Writing Elsewhere: Covering the World’s Rough Edges" was held on Nov. 1, featuring award-winning writers Marcello Di Cintio and Jonathan Katz. From Africa to the Caribbean to the literal and figurative walls that increasingly divide people, these writers spoke about how they see the work of long-form journalism evolving. The talk was moderated by Robin Kirk, co-director of the Duke Human Rights Center@the Franklin Humanities Institute and was co-sponsored by the Duke Human Rights Center, the Duke University Middle East Studies Center, the FOCUS program, the Forum for Scholars and Publics, the Center for Documentary Studies, the International Comparative Studies program, the Policy Journalism program, and the Program in Literature.
