Parking & Transportation Makes Getting Out the Vote Easier

Transit options to early voting site at Karsh Alumni and Visitors Center

Duke Parking and Transportation Services will provide multiple ways for the Duke community to reach polling places on and near campus.

Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3:  Duke has partnered with Lyft and Spin to provide discounted rates to local polling places via vehicles or e-scooters.  Duke TransLoc users can also use the VOTE button in the app to making transit plans for voting throughout the election season.

  • Ride for free with Lyft from the Bryan Center to the WI Patterson polling place on Election Day:  Visit this page to obtain a code for free rides (up to $10 each) to the polling place and back to campus.
  • $10 Ride Credit on November 3: Spin app customers will be eligible for a $10 ride credit to and from polling locations.
  • In-App VOTE Button: TransLoc has added a feature in the TransLoc app allowing riders to access voting information at vote.gov while in-app. 

 

Early voting Oct. 15 – 31: Duke is hosting an early voting site at the Karsh Alumni and Visitor Center, located at 2080 Duke University Road.

  • Van service will be offered from the Duke Medicine Pavilion bus stop to the Karsh Alumni and Visitors Center between 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. from Oct. 20–22 and Oct. 27-29, and on Saturday, Oct. 24.  The last van will depart Karsh at 5:50 p.m. each day.

  • The Karsh Alumni and Visitors Center is a short walk from bus stops on Duke Transit routes C1 (East-West Campus), SWS (Swift Avenue Shuttle) and CSW (East-Smith Warehouse-West Campus).

  • Parking is free at the Karsh Visitor and Alumni Center during voting hours.
