Duke Palliative Care has announced the 2017 winners of the first Palliative Care Advocacy Award, a new award established to recognize palliative care excellence outside of specialist palliative care services and advocacy for palliative care throughout DUHS.

The recipients of this year’s award are:

  • Roberta Caraher, RN, CNIV, CHPPN — Pediatrics
  • Amy Gregorio – Case Management
  • Jennifer Rose – Performance Services
  • Hope Uronis, MD — Oncolocgy/DCI

Awardees were selected based on their demonstrated support of palliative care programs, an exceptional commitment to the principles of palliative care, as well as exceptional skills of communication, decision-making, and pain and symptom management.

Each recipient received a gift card and an engraved plaque recognizing their commitment to the principles of palliative care and their work in disseminating the principles of palliative care to all patients served by DUHS.
