Comments Sought in Regular Review of iiD Director Robert Calderbank

Robert Calderbank The Duke provost conducts regular reviews of all vice provosts, senior staff and faculty who have major administrative positions reporting to the provost.  Provost Sally Kornbluth has appointed a committee to conduct a review of Robert Calderbank who is in the penultimate year of his appointment as director of the Information Initiative at Duke (iiD). 

The committee is chaired by Greg Wray, director of the Duke Center for Genomic and Computational Biology. The other members are: 

  • Katherine Heller, Statistical Science 
  • Amy Herring, Statistical Science
  • Jonathan Mattingly, Mathematics
  • Guillermo Sapiro, Electrical and Computer Engineering

The committee would welcome comments from any members of the Duke community who would like to discuss Calderbank’s performance or on the scope of his activities as iiD director. The committee invites you to share your thoughts by email (admin-review-input@duke.edu). 

Please include a description of the nature of your interactions with Calderbank or of the ways in which his work affects your own.  Suggestions for constructive changes to the portfolio of the iiD director are also welcome.

All communications will be treated as confidential, to be shared only with the members of the review committee.  An aggregate summary will be included in the committee’s written report to the provost. 

The deadline for submitting comments is May 4.
