Comments Sought in Regular Review of Vice President for Administration Kyle Cavanaugh

Jim Roberts to chair review committee

Kyle Cavanaugh A university committee is seeking comments as part of a regular performance review of Vice President for Administration Kyle Cavanaugh. This will be the second such review for Cavanaugh, who has served in his current post since 2011.

Executive Vice President Tallman Trask appointed Jim Roberts, executive vice provost for finance and administration, to chair the committee. Other members include: Bill Fulkerson (Duke University Health System), Kerry Haynie (Political Science and African & African American Studies), Nina King (Athletics), Tori Nevois (Finance) and Jane Onken (School of Medicine).

Cavanaugh joined Duke in 2009 as vice president and chief human resources officer. In 2011, his responsibilities were broadened, and now he serves as vice president for administration, where he oversees the administrative units of Benefits, Labor Relations, Workers Compensation, Visa Services, Recruitment, Learning and Organizational Development, Rewards and Recognition, Communication Services, Global Support, Employee and Occupational Health and Wellness, Human Resources Information Center, Temporary Staffing, Duke Police, Emergency Management, Disability Management Service, Parking and Transportation Services and Childcare Services.

The committee will discuss responses and a summary will be included in a written report to Trask. The committee will hold all communication in strict confidence.
