Shooting Reported at BP Station on Erwin Road
Man taken to hospital with injuries on Friday afternoon

According to Duke Police, the victim is not affiliated with Duke as a student, staff or faculty member.
Update:
Erwin Road is shut down near Douglas Street due to a traffic crash and shooting investigation. One man suffered a gunshot wound and has been taken to the hospital for treatment. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.

On Friday, at approximately 3:30 p.m., an altercation at the BP station at 2432 Erwin Rd. escalated and one individual was shot. The suspect then fled west on Erwin Road in a black Jeep Cherokee.
The victim was transported to Duke University Hospital.
The city of Durham Police is investigating. Individuals are encouraged to avoid the area due to traffic congestion.
