President Price Message to Class of 2020 About Commencement Plan on 'Marking the Moment'

Dear Duke Students,

As our amazing Class of 2020 nears the completion of their Duke programs, they will do so as none of us could have imagined, sadly separated by unforeseen circumstance but proudly united in their inspiring resilience, community spirit and accomplishment.

I remain resolutely committed to celebrating the Class of 2020’s extraordinary contributions to Duke as we always do: here on campus, in Wallace Wade.  And so we will celebrate the commencement weekend they deserve next year, with details forthcoming in the weeks and months ahead.

We must also celebrate the moment that the Class of 2020 graduates this spring, all the more given the difficult circumstances. With that in mind, I am pleased to announce that we will be creating Marking the Moment: Duke Class of 2020, an interactive digital experience that will give graduates, their families, alumni, and friends the opportunity to engage directly with the people and places at Duke that have meant so much to them over the years. And of course, proud Duke alum and honorary member of the Class of 2020 Ken Jeong will be participating, too.

Keep an eye out in the days to come for more information. Until then, thank you—all of you—for everything that you do to make Duke Duke. Very best wishes.

Cheers,
Vince
