5 Things to Know About Registering to Vote

1. Registering to vote only take a few minutes and can be done online, by mail or during early voting. It's EASY!

2. Be prepared to fill the registration form out with a North Carolina driver’s license number and physical address. Proof of address can include a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document showing the voter’s name and address. A current college/university photo identification card paired with proof of campus habitation can also be used.


 

3. If you’ve recently moved, even within Durham, you need to register to vote again at your new address.

4. In North Carolina, the deadline to register to is Friday, October 9, 2020.

5. During the in-person early voting period from October 15th through October 31st, same-day voter registration is available in North Carolina. After registering on-site, you will cast your ballot immediately. ONLY DURING EARLY VOTING!
