Save the Date! Class of 2020 to Celebrate Graduation on Campus Sept. 24-26

Dear Members of the Class of 2020,

I am delighted to invite you to save the date for the Duke Class of 2020 graduation celebration, to be held on campus the weekend of September 24-26, 2021.

While we are in the early stages of planning the weekend’s events, we know that it will be extraordinary. We will have a formal commencement ceremony on Sunday morning, with a slate of honorary degree recipients and an address from Ken Jeong. We’ll also honor the Class of 2020 at the football game against Kansas on Saturday (complimentary tickets will be offered to graduates), and we are working with our colleagues across the campus to host other once-in-a-lifetime Duke celebrations designed especially for you.

We’ll be following up with more details in the coming weeks, including information about guests, ordering regalia, and the schedule of events. We will also ask you to RSVP so that we can plan for appropriate numbers. In the meantime, please feel free to share these plans with your loved ones so that they too can save the date.

I know that your final year on campus did not end the way you would have hoped, and I am very grateful for your patience and flexibility throughout the pandemic. We are all looking forward to welcoming you back for a joyful celebration of your class on campus this fall.
